Overview
This initiative will update Penn Township’s 2012 Comprehensive Plan, a guidance document that serves as our community’s vision for the future. Comprehensive Plans focus on various topics, including open space preservation, natural and cultural resources, transportation facilities, community services, land use and economic development, renewable energy and others.

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code (MPC) requires each municipality to update its Comprehensive Plan at least every 10 years and sets specific standards for its content and the process of its development and adoption. Besides being at that 10-year mark, the current 2012 Plan does not fully address the recent updates identified in Chester County’s Comprehensive Plan, Landscapes 3. This new Plan will reflect changes in demographics, land use patterns, economic growth and focus on the existing community’s needs and address any inconsistencies with Landscapes 3.

The planning process launched in May 2022 and expected to be completed by April 30, 2024. The Plan Update is possible with grant funding assistance from the Chester County Vision Partnership Program (VPP).
